Athletics

Last Wednesday we did Athletics Practice. First we did Long jump. I put my shoes off. Me and Sam played sailor went to. Thats a game that Mrs Owen teached us. it was my turn. i was not good at long jumps. well i tried my best. it was quite fun! it was so fun that i couldn't even wait my turn patiently!

next we did high jump. i learnt some stuff about high jump. so first you run in a j towards the gymnastic mat. and you have to land on your foot. t was so weard because i kept jumping on my right leg when i was suppose to jump on my left leg i was confused. after we went back to class.

Breakout Edu

On the 31st of july,our whole school went to the hall to do different activities. I went to the Breakout Edu which was in room 12. Breakout Edu was that we had to find clues and unlock the box. Imagen and Leah was the bosses of the game. When we were about to start i was starting to get very nervous. But when we started i was not nervous at all! We had 10 people in our group. i couldn't even speak because the room was full of people!  I found one clue that said the number 7. Then we unlocked one. I thought one of them were hello. Then Claire came to room 12 to get me Vanessa and Caoimhe for guitar. But we all wanted to finish the rest of the game. When we went to guitar, we ceep looking outside to see if the game was finished. I was keep thinking of the game. Then when guitar lessons was finished, we ran as fast as we could to room 12. But unluckily the game was already finished. I asked Rebecca if one of the lock code was hello then Rebecca said it was!
We enjoyed the game very much.

Museum Trip

On Tuesday the 26th of June our whole class went on a trip to the Museum.
we couldn't go into the museum because they had to fix some parts of the museum because there was a earthquake last year. So we went in the tea house instead. We learned about Hei Tikis and we made our own Hei Tikis. We used paper felt,2 buttons,craft glue,strings and needles to make the Hey Tiki. First we cutted out a shape of a Hei Tiki. Then we put the buttons on the felt Hei Tiki. Next we sticked some more felt for the armes and legs. then it was finished. we learned a lot of information at the museum.

Pens And Pencils

This is our adapted game that we finished today. we made snakes and ladders but we just changed the rules and the name of our game. we changed the name of our game to pen and pencils. because we used printed pictures of pens and pencils. we used a giant peace of cardboard and we used white paper and orange paper. we made this game for the juniors because they could learn how to play the game and they could learn the numbers.

Sacred Heart Artwork

Today we did a artwork about the sacred heart. before we also went to the sacred heart mass.
so after the mass we did a artwork. we drew things that was matched to the sacred heart. i did a hear with thorns on it and a brown cross and some fire over the heart.
then we coloured it all in. that took a lot of time.

Cross country

On Monday we went to the redwoods for the Crosscountry. i waited and waited until it was our turn to run. when it was our turn to run i blocked my ears because i did not like the sound of the gun that Mr Macmillan was holding. then we started to run. i got tired straight away. then i walked for a while and then i started to run again. i was nearly at the end. when i got to the end i said to myself that wasn't hard at all! i got a bit tired but it was a good day.

Bikewise

On Monday we did Bikewise. We had 3 teachers that teached us how to ride a bike properly and how to fit a helmet properly. First we got a helmet from them. Then they teached us how to fit a helmet.
First we turned the helmet over. Then we put the helmet on out head. next we had to get the strips under our ears. Then we clicked it on. then we had to check if 2 fingers could go between in it. Then we got a bike. We had to check if the handle was wobbling or not. and we checked the tire to make sure it had enough air in it. Then we cheked the bottom tire. We had to check the bottom tire if it was on the close side. Then we were all ready to ride our bikes. we saw small cones on the ground. We had to go through them. And we had to practise not to let our feet on the ground. and we also had to stand up on our bikes and press the brakes. We had a awsome time at Bikewise.

Measurement

Measurement 

This week in our class we made jelly and measured it in a 200ml  cup. We worked in groups and each day we did a different coloured jelly. My group decided to put 40mls in our cup each day. We went on our knees so we could measure it properly. We drew a vivid line on our  cup so we would know where to full it to. We looked at the measurement cup and worked out what amount we needed. Today we get to eat our jelly I think it will be yummy.

Food Science

Today our class tasted some kind of juice. Some of them were yuck and some of them was very yummy.

Elixer of love

On the first day of school term two the NZ Opera people came to our school to show us a little play.
my favorite character was the lady in the picture with the white sunglasses and the pink and white dress. and the other women was our school teacher which is Mrs Wallbank! My favorite part was the scooter man with the black shorts giving potion. but the potion was L&P! that part was funny.
the kiwi guy was bad to the fish and chips guy so i didn't like him. in the show they talked and
sang. the women at the back is misses Wallbank, the man next to Mrs Wallbank is Nemorino, and the lady next to Nemorino is Adina, and the man next to Adina is Belcore, and the man next to Belcore is Dulcamara. 

Jesus Resurrection

Today we made the tomb that Jesus rested when he came down
from the cross.
when he came down from the cross he went into a tomb to rest in. and the soldiers were standing in front of the tomb so Jesus can't come out. but then after three days the rock that was in front of the tomb was rolled away and the tomb was empty. Jesus was risen.

Swimming Sports Day

On Tuesday we had swimming sports. i was waiting to do some freestyle. but this was my first time actually doing it so i was Quite nervouse. so i didn't do it. then it was the last race time. it was the year 5 girls breathstroke. my friends said that i could't play the fun games if i don't do one of the races. so i did the sideways 15 meter breath stroke. well it was fun when i did it! so i thought i should of done all the other races. then it was the fun game time. i played the noodle soup game and the boat game. my favourite was the noodle soup game whitch i tried the first time.

Times Tables Chart

                                             This is my times tables chart.   i need to pracitise 7,8,9 times tabels.                     
                     the other ones are quite easy for me. but i just takes 2 seconds to work it out for my 7,8,9 times tables.
                                     

My Art Canvase

                                                  this is my canvase artwork.  it has some patterns on
                                               it. we got some leaves and we put some paint on it and then we
                                         pushed it on our canvase. they were really really cool. then when
                                     it was completly dried on the next day we took photos of them. Mrs dunkley said that these canverse artworks are going on the redwoods on the childens day.

we burn our promises with the palm leaves and we put it on our foreheads.
and that is called ash.
